The final of the Men’s Champ Pairs, the Chas Warr Cup, was played this morning in brilliant sunshine, before a small but appreciative audience.
The Chas Warr Cup was first played for in the 1970/71 season, when it was won by JBC legend, Todd Anquetil. There was a nice connection with today’s game, which featured Todd’s son, Paul, playing with Steve Scoones against Brady Amer and Adam Ryan. This cup has often been won several times by some of the Club’s most experienced players, however none of today’s players had won the trophy before.
Paul and Steve were unable to replicate Todd’s success, with Brady and Adam having a comfortable win.
