In the first instance all that is required is a pair of flat soled shoes with no heel.
The club has bowls for loan whilst you try the sport and at this stage no special clothing is required. You don't even need to pay membership at this stage.
Once you are hooked you will require your own bowls which can cost from between $400-$700 depending on the make and type of bowl you desire. New or a good second hand set can be had for approximately $150. A set of bowls will last a lifetime.
Bowling shoes cost from $80 to $180, and for official competitions you will require bowls pants/ or skirts and club shirt - around $60 each.
Yearly membership is 1st year bowler $100.00 this also covers the use of club facilities and greens for practice.
REMEMBER - Trying the sport will cost nothing.
