The current Men’s Champ Fours trophy, the Sam Dean Memorial Cup, was first played for in the 1969/70 season.
Today it was played for between teams skipped by Bruce Henderson and Wayne Coleman. It was a tight game which see-sawed back and forwards, with the score at 15 all after 16 of the 18 ends. On the last two ends Bruce’s team of Rob Veale, Isi Taito and Grant Wakefield, managed two singles to hold on to the lead and take the game from Wayne, Travis Anquetil, Trevor Ross and Jason Anquetil.
