The trophy for this event was first played for in the 1951/52 season and, like the men’s, is engraved with the names of several who have gone on to success at the top levels of bowls.
Today’s finalists were Lynnie Campbell, and first year bowler, 18-year-old Keira Arnold. Although Keira played college bowls for four years, she faced a tough task against fourth year bowler and Wellington 1-8 year representative, Lynnie. Sure enough, Lynnie took a firm grip of the game to win comfortably - but it was great to see Keira, clearly competitive and capable of going on to future successes.
