Not to be outdone by the women’s successes, today saw the final of the JBC Men’s Champ Triples. An added dimension to this event was that in the team of Allan Brider (s), Alan Maclean and Ian Hutchison, both Allan and Alan used bowling arms – the Stickmen. The other finalists, with no sticks, were Grant Wakefield (s), Ken Brown and A J Cronin. A tension-filled final, resulted in a draw after 18 ends. In the extra end the Stickmen were holding one shot with a bowl to come from Grant. What looked like a pretty good shot from Grant was blown off course by a sudden gust of wind, giving the win to the Stickmen and Hutch. Divine intervention?
