After three days of triples, the Johnsonville trio of Paula Meredith, Lynnie Campbell and Merani Davis yesterday won the Henselite Open Triples 17-16 – on an extra end, against the strong Naenae team of Wendy Mackie, Kennie Critchlow and Yvonne Burt. Nail-biting stuff!

Several other JBC women’s teams did very well – Lui Hare, Kay Martin and Gill Oliver were beaten by Wendy Mackie’s team in the semi-finals. Cynthia Evans, Kaaren Guilford and Carol Humphries; and Alison Colgate, Janet Nehemia and Debera Dean both made it to the quarters. On the men’s side, Craig Walker, Gareth Evans and Dave Carr; and Grant Wakefield, Ken Brown and A J Cronin both made it to the quarters, where Grant’s team was beaten by the eventual winners, Victoria’s Ray Martin, Tim Toomey and Chris Nugent.
